Quick and Delicious Apple Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 cup of cold water
  • 3 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and granulated sugar.
  • Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in cold water a tablespoon at a time until the dough comes together.
  • Divide the dough in half, wrap each half in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • Roll out one portion of the dough on a floured surface and fit it into a baking dish.
  • In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon.
  • Pour the apple mixture into the prepared crust.
  • Roll out the second portion of the dough and place over the filling. Crimp the edges to seal.
  • Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
