Chilli Dogs


 

Preparation Time:

Ingredients:

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 beef hot dogs
  • 1 cup of chilli (homemade or canned)
  • 1/2 cup of diced onions
  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of jalapeños (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • grill
  • saucepan
  • spatula
  • knife
  • cutting board

Instructions:

  • Preheat the grill to medium heat. Grill the hot dogs for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until grilled to perfection.
  • While the hot dogs are grilling, heat the chilli in a saucepan over medium heat until hot, stirring occasionally.
  • Slice the hot dog buns down the center, being careful not to cut all the way through. Toast them lightly on the grill for a minute.
  • Once the hot dogs are done, place each one into a toasted bun.
  • Top each hot dog with a generous amount of hot chilli, diced onions, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Drizzle mustard and mayonnaise on top for added flavor. If desired, add jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Serve immediately with extra chilli on the side.
