Oven-fried Chicken

Preparation Time:

  • 35 min

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 kg of chicken pieces (legs, thighs, wings)
  • 200g of all-purpose flour
  • 100g of breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons
  • Tongs

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  • In another bowl, pour the buttermilk and add the chicken pieces, ensuring they are well coated.
  • Allow the chicken to marinate in the buttermilk for about 10 minutes for tenderness.
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring a good coating.
  • Place the coated chicken pieces on a wire rack set over a baking sheet, allowing excess flour to fall off.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken pieces, ensuring they're evenly coated.
  • Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
