Preparation Time:
- 45 min
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of chicken wings
- 250 ml of pineapple juice
- 2 tbsp of soy sauce
- 1 tbsp of honey
- 1 tbsp of garlic powder
- 1 tbsp of onion powder
- 1 tsp of smoked paprika
- 1 tsp of black pepper
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup of cornstarch
- salt to taste
- fresh cilantro for garnish
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- mixing bowl
- baking tray
- oven
- grill
- meat thermometer
- tongs
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and cornstarch together.
- Remove the wings from the marinade and let excess marinate drip off. Dredge each wing in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Place the coated wings on the baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until crispy and cooked through, using a meat thermometer to check that they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
- For extra crunch, grill the baked wings for an additional 5 minutes, turning occasionally.
- Serve the wings hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
