Pineapple Marinated Crunch Wings

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of chicken wings
  • 250 ml of pineapple juice
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 1 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • salt to taste
  • fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
  • Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and cornstarch together.
  • Remove the wings from the marinade and let excess marinate drip off. Dredge each wing in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
  • Place the coated wings on the baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until crispy and cooked through, using a meat thermometer to check that they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
  • For extra crunch, grill the baked wings for an additional 5 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • Serve the wings hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
